Thursday 15th November 1857

Mr. Barletts discourse this evening was on Ruth’s resolution we arrived back from Chapel about half past 8 o’clock.

Tuesday 14th January 1857

Mr. Barletts discouse this evening was from the 13th Chapter 6.7.8.9 verse of Luke. Mr. G.C and Mr. J.Y.G  called to see Grandma.

Tuesday 13th January 1857

Grandma rather better, in the evening we went to Chapel Mr. Barletts discourse was from the 19th Chapter and 17th verse of Genesis illustrating the burning of Sodom.

Sunday 11th January 1857

Julia and I went to church, Mr. Douglas preached from the 16th Chapter of John and 23rd verse. In the evening we went to Chapel.

Thursday 8th January 1857

Went to Ryde with Julia’s Flutina, dinned and drank tea with Cousin William. Spent a very pleasant day, arrived home about half past 7 o’clock.

Mr. Bailey drank tea with us. In the evening we went to chapel.

Julia and I went to Wootton Church. Mr Scot preached from the 21st verse of Mathew and the 18 and 19 verses. Miss Hale And Mr J.G.G. drank tea with us. Cousin William came to see us in the evening and brought me some tunes to copy. Julia went to chapel.

Julia received a note from Miss Rolf who informed her there was two weddings at Newport this week.
