Transcript

- to Trinity Church, arrived home about 1/2 past nine o'clock.

11th Monday - I went to Newport.

13th Wednesday - a teaparty at Wootton Wesleyan Chapel. Miss C Healey went to London.

14th Thursday - Mr. George Cooper called in Grandma paid him 6s* for putting a new top to mahogany table.

17th Sunday - I and Julia went to Wootton Church. In the afternoon I drank tea at Mr. Dores. In the evening I went to St Thomas' Church. Mr. Connors ?? We arrived home at the Villa at about 1/4 past 9 o'clock. Mr George Cooper called in.

*Using the Retail Price Index 6 shillings in 1858 is now worth approximately £22.
If Average Earnings is used the calculated figure is a staggering £122.
